Facilities Steward
Reports to: Lead Pastor
The Facilities Steward is responsible to maintain the facilities in “ministry ready” condition through cleaning, room setup, and light maintenance.
This is a 20 hour per week position, with additional hours available/required for special events and activities.

This person should have and maintain:

- The ability to communicate as the job demands
- A working knowledge of construction practices, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other utility systems
- The ability to organize and work alongside volunteers
- Able to handle confidential information in a professional manner
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with staff members and ministry leaders to ensure the readiness of the facilities for ministry
- Setup rooms for ministry use
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
- Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Create work orders as maintenance needs are discovered
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Set-up and tear down
- Coordinate with Front Office Personnel concerning the monthly, weekly, daily set-up and tear down issues
- Weddings
- Funerals
- Celebrate Recovery
- Life Groups
- Bible studies
- Etc.
- Alternately, or as needed, staff a trained volunteer team to help with setups
- Coordinate with Front Office Personnel concerning the monthly, weekly, daily set-up and tear down issues
- Cleaning and Maintenance
- Maintain and adjust the cleaning schedule for the building accordingly – accounting for programs and needs, including:
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
- Clean and supply restrooms
- Wash and clean interior windows and mirrors
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Plan to work extra hours for special evening and weekend events or schedule a trained stand-in to serve during/after:
- Wedding rehearsals
- Funerals
- Meetings
- Etc.
- Plan to be “on call” during Sunday morning services to take care of needs as they arise
- Alternatively, train a team of volunteers who can serve in case of need
- Maintain and adjust the cleaning schedule for the building accordingly – accounting for programs and needs, including:
- Maintenance
- Walk the building with a critical eye – Making sure all aspects of the building are in pristine condition and if necessary, creating work orders for:
- Chipped scuffed walls
- Carpet stains
- Window smudges
- Stained ceiling tiles
- Piles / stacks that accumulate
- Leaking or broken fixtures
- Etc.
- Schedule time to address these special cleaning needs or turn the work orders over to the management team.
- Walk the building with a critical eye – Making sure all aspects of the building are in pristine condition and if necessary, creating work orders for:
