Northeast Covid-19 Response
UPDATED SUNDAY 3/15/2020 – 8pm.
Hebrews 10:23-25 says “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Today we gathered as a church virtually and physically – and this evening our staff and elders met to discuss how we might best continue to uphold our mission of being a community helping one another pursue a right relationship with God and our place in His story. Together we made the difficult decision to find alternate ways to equip the church instead of meeting corporately on Sundays until further notice. We’ve empowered ministry and group leaders to determine how they will continue in days ahead and share those details with those in their care.
This decision allows us to support our community, hold a high value of our physical health, and respond creatively – we’re in new territory as a faith community. But we are reminded that many years ago the church in Acts 2 was in new territory and the Gospel spread to the ends of the earth.
Our staff will continue to work on this in days ahead and we invite you to participate. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates and sign up to receive email updates at: https://northeastcc.churchcenter.com/people/forms/112784
As you go about your week, be encouraged and let the heart of that encouragement be a reminder of how great our hope is in Christ and that God can be trusted.
