DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  • Do you feel pressure to always be busy or active in something? Why or why not?
  • If you have a regular time of practicing stillness, what does it look like? If you don’t practice stillness, why not?
  • When your life gets busy, how does that affect your relationship/interaction with God?
  • If you were to set a timer for 10 minutes, sit down, close your eyes, and simply focus on God- What would that experience be like for you? Would you be stressed? Be calmed? Fall asleep? Why?
  • In what ways would a regular time of stillness affect your relationship with God, and with others?
  • How could your group/family help one another practice stillness? How could you group/family hold you accountable to regular times of stillness?
  • How would Northeast look different, if the whole congregation was more rooted in God through regular times of stillness?
  • How would a Church, more keenly aware of what God is doing, change the world? How would the Church help others find Him?

Important Resources

Each week we have daily readings and an adjusted plan for our little readers. We also have discussion questions for your group or family to reflect on this weeks spiritual discipline.

Read along each day, and make time to discuss with others.

Along with the readings each day, we will post a short devotional on our facebook page. There you can read our insights, but more importantly you can share your questions and insights with us!

Check back each day Monday through Friday

After you, your family, or your group have spent the week studying a discipline, we will hear from one of our teachers about how that discipline affects all of our relationships.

Check in Sundays at 9 and 11am
