Our Local Rockford Partnership with Rock House Ministries

Pastor: Dola Gregory

Personal Detail: Dola has a heart for the transient population of children in downtown Rockford. She moved down among them nearly eight years ago and has shared Christ's love openly ever since.

Area Served: Downtown Rockford near Broadway and 7th is a more challenged area of Rockford. There is a lot of drug related crime and prostitution. It is estimated that there are hundreds of "homeless" children in this area.

Past Projects: Vounteers from Northeast have helped on Wednesdays for over three years now. They have taught, cooked, served food, led in singing, played games, and mentored. Volunteers from Northeast are working on building and furnishing classrooms for the children so they can break up into age appropriate areas to learn more effectively.

Future Projects: The possibilites are great. The restrooms need to upgraded. The kitchen needs to be upgraded. Dola has dreams of opening up the ministry to the children more nights of the week. Only the manpower is holding her back.

Our Dominican Republic Partnership

Pastor: Francisco "Rafelito" Garcia Rodriguez

Spouse: Griselda

Children: Ruth (11) Josue (5) and Noemi Doris (1)

Personal Detail: Rafelito is a young man of thirty-eight with a great heart. His wife is very supportive and active in his ministry especially in the area of children's ministry. They currently rent an apartment in their area of service.

Area Served: Los Guandules is an area of intense poverty on the outskirts of Santiago. This land is not deeded and families live on top of each other on the hillside surrounding a river valley. It is not unusual for many of the makeshift homes to be destroyed by flooding.

Past Projects: We provide a monthly salary whih enables Rafelito to concentrate on ministry full-time. We have purchased a van for their family to use both personally and for use in ministry. We recently completed construction of a church building which they used for various forms of worship and a feeding center. We have provided some teaching tools and training, and have done a dental clinic.

Future Projects: Finishing work on the church building, further developing the feeding program, or possibly building a house for Rafelito's family.

Our Haiti Partnership

Pastor: Lucne Jean Pierre

Spouse: Marie

Children: Daughters Nerline (9) and Anjuola (11)

Personal Detail:
Lucne is a pastor in his early 40's. He pastors a congregation of about 200 people in Phaeton, a town on the northern coast of Haiti.

Area Served:
Phaeton is a fishing village on the northern coast of Haiti. It is about two hours from the border. The town has a population of approximately 2000 people. The people survive on fishing. Haiti is one of the least developed countries of the world. Travel is difficult due to very poor roads.

Past Projects: We provide a monthly salary, which enables Lucne to concentrate on ministry full-time. We recently made a gift of several Haitian/Creole Bibles and some personal items. We have also provided solar panels and lights for their church building which proves to be the only electric energy for 50 miles of the church.

Future Projects: We hope to make improvements to their church building. We are hoping for the political situation in Haiti to improve so that we will be able to enter Haiti soon. When we make visits to our Dominican Partner we always look to encourage Lucne and his family in some way.
