Simon
Says...
Shortly after the death of Jesus, Christianity began to sweep
across the known world. As a result, attempts to stop the growth
became strong. Persecution became a way of life for many Christians.
Enter Simon Peter, who stepped up and wrote to those scattered
and beaten believers in an attempt to bolster their spirits
and encourage them to keep focused on Jesus in spite of all
they were suffering. Today it seems that our culture is working
hard to put down the cause of Jesus. So the words of 1 Peter
are both timely and needed. Through May and June we will be
taking an in-depth look at this short letter to encourage you
to diligently and intentionally live boldly for Jesus in our
society.

In
Acts we read that the church was exploding in size. So, what
