LIFE GROUP MINISTRY                                                                       go back to ministries

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY
Life Groups are small groups of people who are striving to glorify God by meeting together regularly to share, study, support, and serve each other. Our Life Groups are encouraged to live out true Christian fellowship with one another. Opportunities for service in the Life Group Ministry area are as follows:

Leader - Leaders shepherd their group members by sharing in their spiritual journey, helping members nurture one another, and facilitating group meetings.
Host - Hosts are the hospitality arm of the ministry. They open their home to group members for the weekly meeting and make sure that everyone feels welcome.
Coach - Coaches shepherd Life Group leaders by sharing in their spiritual journey, encouraging them in their leadership role, and helping them maintain the ministry vision.

PURPOSE OF MINISTRY
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer….all the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need….they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47)

Because we want to be a community in which people are becoming more like Christ by “doing life together”, the Life Group Ministry strives to help people connect relationally with one another.

SENIORS-ON-THE-GO                                                                       go back to ministries

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY
This ministry is designed for those 65 and over. Its purpose is to communicate and share God’s love to those in the church family, and to those outside the church through serving, not being served, and through giving, not receiving. In pursuit of this purpose, Seniors-on-the-Go will continue to create an awareness about the value of, the need for, and the role of senior adults in the church. Seniors adults should be seen as assets, not liabilities, as givers, not consumers, and as people in need of evangelistic outreach. Some of the programs of the ministry include the TNT Sunday Morning Bible Study, the Thursday Bible Study and Luncheon, and the Motor Coach Trips.

CHAIR MINISTRY                                                                       go back to ministries

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY
Space is at a premium here at Northeast. Due to the fact that we have several different uses of our auditorium during the week, it is necessary for the chairs in the auditorium to be set-up and torn down on a weekly basis. There is a chart to follow that shows the layout of the chairs in the auditorium.

Being involved in the chair ministry would mean simply doing the physical labor of stacking chairs and rolling them to the sides of the auditorium. Or un-stacking the chairs and setting them up according to a visual diagram provided.

Tear down is done after third service on Sunday. Depending of the number of people involved, the time for the task varies from 15 minutes to an hour.

NEW BIRTHS MINISTRY                                                                       go back to ministries

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY
Bringing a new baby home from the hospital is both a joy and a challenge. The new births ministry wants to help moms and dads out by bringing meals over to the house a few times to help relieve some of the daily strain of preparing something to eat that exists those first few weeks. This is an opportunity for the church to show how much we care about people. What a blessing you could be to a family with a new born! This is how it works:

Volunteer—call the contact person listed below to put yourself on the list of volunteers for this ministry
Get a Family—you will receive a phone call with a family’s name, phone number, address, and how many you would need to prepare for.
Set a Date—you contact the family to find out what day is best for them to receive a meal from you. You can ask for meal suggestions if you want to.
Make the Meal—Prepare it yourself or get carry out. Make it a complete meal. An example would be: spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert.. Try to bring meals in something that does not need to be returned to you. It can also be a frozen meal to be used at their convenience.
Deliver it—you take the meal to the family at the agreed upon time. This may be the only chance that this family gets to interact with people in those first few weeks of adjustment.

PURPOSE OF MINISTRY
“By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
The new births ministry exists to help moms and dads adjusting to a new addition by providing several for them in those first few weeks.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS                                                                       go back to ministries

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY
First impressions matter to the guests of Northeast. Before the worship experience ever begins many factors are at play that have the potential to touch a life with care. We want to intentionally make people feel cared about and welcome as soon as they step foot onto our campus. We have several teams in place to try and make our guests' first experience a positive one, lasting, and memorable.

Our Welcome Center team has people who are stationed at our two welcome center locations just inside our two main entrances. They are there to welcome, help, and encourage our guests who may not know the run-of-the-house so to speak.

Our Greeting team is also on the lookout for those with a deer-in-the-headlights expression that says, “I’m sort of new here and it sure would be nice to have someone connect with me!” Our greeters are outgoing, like to shake hands and talk to people. Greeters help people to feel comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings.

PURPOSE OF MINISTRY
“Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God!” Romans 15:7 (CEV) Our purpose is to touch lives with a welcoming spirit and helpful direction before they ever reach the auditoriums.

COMMUNION AND OFFERING SERVERS                                           go back to ministries

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY
Northeast celebrates the Lord’s Supper every week as we remember what God did to remove our sins through Christ Jesus’ physical death on the cross and resurrection from the grave. We also collect an offering each week to be used for our ministry and mission to the world. The communion and offering serving teams prepare and serve Christ’s body and blood and they also collect up the offering.

PURPOSE OF MINISTRY
Christ called us to remember Him through sharing the Lord’s supper. Christ calls us to give towards His mission and ministry in the world. This team helps us to fulfill those callings.
