BENEVOLENCE
There are certain times when people need both financial help and encouragement during a difficult time and the benevolence ministry exists to evaluate and assist in such situations. In Christ, we are called to come beside, encourage and assist people who are struggling through a difficult situation in their life.

FINANCIAL COUNSELING
The Financial Counseling ministry involves working with individuals or couples who want to improve their financial situation or habits. We can help people in numerous areas, such as putting together budgets, designing strategies to pay off debts, deciding how much they can spend on a home, or planning for college or retirement. We are all stewards of God's provision in our lives. In Christ we are called to help people know how to please God in their financial dealings.

HOLIDAY SHARING
Every year during the holidays there are needy families who could use a little extra help. We rally together as a congregation to help donate, pack, and deliver the goods for a special holiday meal that will help to provide for each families physical and spiritual needs in the holiday season. We also rally together to purchase, wrap, and deliver gifts to children of parents who are encarcerated through Angel Tree Ministries. In Christ we are called to care for people in need. In this very small way we can provide an enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas for families in our congregation and in our community who otherwise would not have food or gifts.

PRAYER MINISTRY
In Matthew 21 Jesus said, “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” We want to encourage and support prayer within the body here at Northeast. We want people to develop an intimate relationship with God and each other. At Northeast we desire to enlist, educate, equip and encourage our body here to devote themselves to prayer, knowing it is powerful and effective. Dependence on God through prayer is foundational to our church and we want to provide multiple opportunities for dependence on prayer to be fostered.

BARNABAS MINISTRY
Barnabas Ministry – a ministry of encouragement – is a method of connecting those who are not longer able to attend Northeast –either as shut-ins or temporarily because of illness – with the church community. If you would enjoy visiting our shut-ins once a month or spending time with those who are in the hospital and/or rehab, please contact sylvia@northeastcc.com or call her at 815.633.3536 to set up training. If you are a volunteer in this ministry, you can access the Barnabas Ministry resources here.
